Chatted with some people over at Kartemquin (the Interreupters movie) and they told me Dee sings the cover of Don't Give On Me in the movie trailer. I would love to get a copy of that song, if possible. Can't seem to find it anywhere and I don't want such a beautiful song to be lost on some hard drive somewhere. Thanks - please email back, I'd really appreciate it.
Hi Dee, When you come to Brasil again? I want to see you, your show. KISSES
On Portland Oregon Public Radio, I heard "Spring Things" and am trying to find it online for purchase but am coming up short! Can you help me???
Since I listened to your magnificent cd “Wild Is The Wind”, I’ve deemed you today’s greatest jazz singer, in the best tradition of the greatest of the past – Bessie, Billie, Ella, Sarah…..
And I recently bought a used cd (almost impossible to find) of your previous highly enjoyable “Live at the Hothouse”.
Few days ago I heard you in concert in Milan – Italy and was thrilled with your fantastic singing as well as the playing of your Evolution Ennsemble!
I can't wait for your next record to listen to…. I hope very soon!
Thank you hearthily!
You have a lovely voice and perfect phrasing. Wonderful to hear and enjoy.
All the best in your 2012 musical season,
Ida & Paul Roldan
We heard you this summer in Chicago after we met at the Jazz Institute fundraiser. We so enjoyed your performance and would love to bring friends to listen to you. Let us know when you\'re back in Chicago performing.

My birthday last year was made incredible by seeing her for the first time at the Velvet Lounge, my cousin took me. Blessings! Annette

HELLO DEE, I HOPE YOU REMEBER US. MY HUSBAND KEITH CAME ACROSS AN AD OF YOURS AND GAVE IT TO ME. IT'S GREAT TO SEE YOU STILL DOING YOU. YOU SOUND GREAT.
Hi Dee - I really enjoy your shows, although I keep missing them lately. Hopefully that will be mended soon. We saw you at the velvet lounge at the "Light" Henry Huff birthday tribute and it was one of the most moving nights I've ever lived.Could you please add me to your mailing list, and could you tell me where I could buy a copy of the Evolution Ensemble CD? I think my uncle would really like it, and he doesn't live in Chicago. Thanks!
Dear Dee Alexander:
Thank you so much again for this incredible concert: we had a wonderful
Your voice is particularly beautiful and moreover the way you use it is so
rich and inspiring!
When you sing, our minds leave the ground and travel far what stunned
me is that when you scat, your voice has so many colors and that you draw
real paintings with these colors. Then, when you have brought us so far
away that we have lost even the very notion of song with words, when we
actually don't have the notion that there could be words anymore
-because they have become useless in the wide landscape of your sounds- at
that very moment, clear, warm, supple, generous, so beautiful, your jazz
diva voice gently comes back with the text. When you go back on the theme
like that, it is as if a bird was coming back, or as if you were waking us
The use you make of silences is excellent too: they are music. You guys
had a real group sound, the musical flesh was there, united. The bass
player is incredible.
Another thing I admired: when you sing love, not a second you have the
least mannerism, and though you are never gross; I mean you have power
with no brutality whatsoever and you have sensibility and softness with no mannerism or sentimentalism whatsoever, bravo! Always feeling and emotion
without superficiality and pretense. You are true, sincere, generous in
your art and really, it was awesome.
Your voice flows like a shining river, with no apparent effort. You use it
like an instrument.
My piano jazz teacher gave me hints to follow that path. I took piano
jazz lessons to accompany myself when I sing but my teacher does not train
singers. He thinks that to be able to use my voice like an instrument and
improve the variety of my scats, I need to work harder on my piano
choruses. Do you play piano or another instrument?
The songs you wrote are excellent.
Really you were blessed with an incredible talent and frankly, this
concert was like a dream come true to me.
Last but not least: some say jazz is dead but you are proving it is
definitively not dead with a jazz that sounds very actual!
Take care and sing, sing, sing!
God bless you,
i was in your concert at Lausanne. It was fantastic..
Please, come to Turkey!
Went to Katerina's last night and enjoyed your voice and spirit. Can't wait for the opportunity to interview you :-).

Saw Ms Alexander for the very first time at the Cgo Jazz Festival and Oh My God, I am still mesmerized by her vocal talents and abilities as an artist. I have heard about her but never had the pleasure of witnessing her do her thang until now. I would like to be added to receive the newsletter or to the mailing list for any notifications as to when and wehere she will be performing. I recently had a death in the family and would like to purchase tickets for two people that needs to get out and unwind a bit and I thought that seeing Ms Alexander would be great for them. Please let me know where venue she will be performing (other than Hyde Park). I thank you so much for your time. "You're bad Dee"!!!
Great concert last night at Petrillo!! I purchased your cd but couldn't stay for the autograph session. Would it be possible for me to send you the booklet for you to sign with a self-addressed stamped envelope? If so, please advise me where to send it.
Also, I am a middle school music teacher and I like to hang autographed pictures of musicians in my classroom. Would it be possible to purchase a signed publicity photo of yourself which I could add to my collection?
Congrats , you were always were the GODDESS!!.

I'm Jay Greene, host of WDCB's All Things Jazz on Saturday Mornings. You probably don't get to hear me, my shift is 7-10AM.(most musicians don't hear the whole show)
I have been a fan of yours for a long time. I was reading my new Downbeat, and lo and behold your new cd was reviewed. Congratulations on the FIVE STARS! I've been giving it the same rating on my show, and have been playing it since it's release.
Keep the great art, and again, congratulations.
I would like to be added to your personal and media list. I absolutely love your music and style.
French: Votre voix est une merveille. Et ce premier disque un vrai bonheur.
Nous attendons votre retour en France. Merci pour ce bonheur que vous diffusez.
English: Your voice is a marvel. And this first disc a true happiness.
We wait for your return in France. Thank you for this happiness which you broadcast.
THIS BITTER EARTH..............Heard you for the first time on Sirius. What a total pleasure for a Saturday night, to make me recall all of the greats I've known, and add Dee Alexander . I'm a really old timer that grew up in Chicago when there was so much exposure to the legends of jazz and the friendliness to be able to converse one on one. I remember Dinah...................there's a hint with your style. But, I would honestly say that you bring an excitingly unique voice that will set new standards. Thanks for being here. I hope to see you in person. And , by the way, your pianist is fantastic.
Kindly add me to your email list.
I would like to know of upcoming perfomances, releases etc.
Your website is fabulous!
Can't wait to hear/see you at the Velvet this weekend. Your Kuziliwa at Jazz Showcase certainly demonstrated how wonderfully gracious you are! You got it goin' on Sis.....Much Love & Respect,
I will be in Chicago from the 23rd - 26th and wanted to know if there will be any shows.
